The project involved the construction of a new 1200m2 retail building with up to 5 tenancies comprising of a concrete floor slab, precast concrete walls, metal deck roof & glazed aluminium window & door sections. An existing car park in front of adjacent retail tenancies was refurbished simultaneously with the construction of the car park for the new building, to achieve common drainage & surface finishes and regraded levels with smooth transitions.
External precast walls were internally lined with Kingspan Kooltherm insulation prior to installation of plasterboard.
The approximate 600m2 T1 tenancy fit out consisted of internal walls, solid & t-bar ceilings, aluminium windows & door frames, joinery and painting. Building services – power / data, lighting, plumbing, mechanical systems were installed to suit the new tenancy layout.
The project was started on site just prior to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, which challenged a number of processes in the project. At the work face there were numerous new safety & well being procedures implemented quickly and all interaction with the client was conducted virtually due to interstate location and border closures.
