Murray Bridge Swimming Centre

Project Scope: Murray Bridge Swimming Centre

The Murray Bridge Swimming project ran through the early months of 2020. The works were completed on site whilst the pool was also undergoing other development and upgrading works. Mykra’s works on site consisted of a detailed demolition keep the existing structure and roofing in place whilst isolating new windows and a new lintel to each bathroom to open the space up. Existing doors were blocked up and rendered to finalise the external finish. Internally, works include new plumbing and new concrete slab to enable the new layout to the existing shower, toilet and changeroom. New electrical and mechanical were also included in the scope giving the space a new light. New tiled flooring which extended to the ceiling was completed whilst existing toilet partitions were used on site in conjunction with new panels to ‘retrofit’ and save the council money. New ceiling and linings were completed to create the space and new wall divider to shelter the shower from the change rooms and toilets. New aluminium windows allow natural light from the western side, whilst the large selected tiles give the area a open feel. Works were completed on ahead of schedule with minimal variations (a majority of variations were at demolition and surrounding Latent conditions to the slab and lintel requirements.)
