Project Scope: Woolworths Blakes Crossing 

This project involved the construction of a brand-new pick-up canopy extension for a new drive through click and collect area. External works included civil changes to pavements, asphalt, new stormwater services and a new ramp allowing easy delivery of goods to customer cars. Cutout of a new door opening with new auto door and roller shutter, with minor internal services and fitout upgrades. Additional parking was provided, including accessible bays at the western side of the shopping centre.

Some of the key challenges that were faced included creating the new door cutout whilst working in a live environment. Regular Woolworths operation was imperative to the success of the project, with all internal works and doorway cutout being completed out of hours after 9:00 pm. Given the car park adjacent the new pick up area also remained in operation, whilst ensuring maximum safety of both contractors, staff and customers during structural steel erection and roofing for the canopy.
