Continuing on our longstanding history of collaborating with KFC, Mykra were engaged to fit-out the newbuild KFC at Nuriootpa in the Barossa approximately 30 minutes north of Adelaide. The 304m2 building was transformed from an empty shell to a modern fast-food restaurant for both front and back of house. The project was highlighted by the extensive joinery package, stainless steel works, commercial kitchen mechanical systems and full store tiling.
The fit-out commenced towards the completion of the greater service station and retail outlet development which introduced a number of complexities to the works. We had regular meetings with the developer and their Head Contractor, and notably we were required to run the construction and commissioning from temporary generators while the site power was still to be connected by others.
Mykra were able to complete the fit-out on a fast-paced program despite the challenges still being experienced with COVID-19 delays and the projects semi-rural location. There were a small number of changes made by the client through the build process, and Mykra were also able to collaboratively work with client engaged subcontractors in delivering the works. Overall the client was extremely satisfied with the works and the store was able to commence trading on time, much to the delight of the greater Barossa community.
